The Datasphere Initiative is pleased to announce that Data Privacy Brazil has joined the global network as an in-kind partner. The two organizations will collaborate to support data governance policy research and practice on how the value of data can be shared by all.
Data Privacy Brazil Research Association is a non-profit civil society organization that promotes the protection of personal data and other fundamental rights in the face of the emergence of new technologies, social inequalities, and power asymmetries.
“We are pleased to have Data Privacy Brazil join our network of partners. Their work to ensure that digital rights are fundamental rights for everyone, resonates profoundly with the Datasphere Initiative’s mission to responsibly unlock the value of data for all and we look forward to working with them” said Carolina Rossini, Director of Research and Partnerships, Datasphere Initiative.
Both organizations are working to connect actors working on digital policy in the Global South and especially Latin America and the Caribbean.
“As a global network of stakeholders building agile frameworks to responsibly unlock the value of data for all, Datasphere Initiative is a key partner to achieve one of Data Privacy Brazil’s main goals for the next years: amplify the Global South voices in digital rights policy-making. Also, both organizations are framing data as a common good as a theoretical and empirical strategy to reduce the current asymmetry of power in the informational capitalism” explained Bruno Bioni, Founder-Director of Data Privacy Brazil Research Association.
