Smart City Expo Curitiba, organized by Fira Barcelona and the Smart City Expo World Congress, is the biggest smart city event in Brazil. The fifth edition of the event was held on March 20-22, 2024 at the Positivo Events Center, in Curitiba, Brazil.
This event brought together representatives of the public sector, companies, universities, and society civil, and the objective is to reinvent cities to make them more sustainable and efficient, contemplating technological solutions. In addition, the event offers networking opportunities, presentations of innovative projects, and exchange of knowledge among participants.

The session explored some of the challenges arising from the use of data: how are cities developing a strong data framework? How do we safeguard data? What should be the privacy standards? In a reality where data means progress, effective data management is essential for a modern, transparent, and accountable governance.
