Sissi is a dynamic bridge-builder shaping the digital landscape, particularly in AI, digital economy, and cybersecurity. Her expertise lies in fostering strategic partnerships across sectors and borders, driving digital transformation initiatives. She spearheaded the AI Regulatory Sandbox project in Mexico, setting a precedent in AI regulation and ethical governance.
Currently, Sissi is the International Affairs Director at AMCID (the Mexican Academy for Cibersecurity and Digital Law) and a founding member of the National Alliance for Artificial Intelligence (ANIA), where she contributed to the development of a robust AI ecosystem in Mexico. She’s also a Tech Policy Fellow at the Berkeley University, where her research will be focused on Digital Regulation Coordination spaces for AI Regulation.
Previously Sissi led ALAI (Latin American Internet Association) activities in Mexico and Central America, advocating for the interests of the internet industry and shaping digital trade policies. She has extensive experience in negotiations with high-level government officials and international organizations, having played a key role in the negotiation of the Digital Trade Chapter for the TMEC/USMCA trade agreements and the Regional Digital Agenda eLAC2018.
Sissi’s deep understanding of government policies, international organizations, and private sector interests allows her to foster collaboration and innovation. Her extensive experience in negotiations with high-level government officials and international organizations has shaped digital trade policies across continents.
