Data Governance Conference

Open Institute
February 26, 2025
13:00 - 14:00 Hours EAT
Nairobi, Kenya

The Data Governance Conference is a pioneering event focused on advancing data governance across the East African Community (EAC). Organized by Amnesty International Kenya and the Open Institute, this conference aims to bring together key stakeholders from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and beyond to address the most pressing challenges and opportunities in data governance.

With the rapid advancement of technology, data has become a crucial asset in driving innovation, efficiency, and development. However, this also brings challenges related to privacy, security, and ethical use. The DG24 Conference provides a platform for professionals, policymakers, and researchers to come together and shape the future of data governance in East Africa.

At this event, Morine Amutorine, Associate Researcher, and Risper Onyango, Research Assistant at the Datasphere Initiative, will be presenting our work on the Africa Sandboxes Forum.
