In partnership with the Global Shapers Bogotá Hub, the Datasphere Initiative will be hosting an in-person workshop with young people as part of the official COP16 Green Zone agenda and in light of the Youth4OurDataFuture project. Taking place in Cali, Colombia on October 22nd, the workshop, “Data, Jaguars and Artificial Intelligence: A Workshop for Youth”, will bring together youth communities from across Colombia and the globe to explore the role of data and artificial intelligence in protecting biodiversity and nature.
Participants will be guided to identify avenues for action to engage in these conversations, from continuing education to activism. After the workshop, the Datasphere Initiative and Global Shapers teams will build a youth manifesto for using data and AI for biodiversity protection.
The event will be moderated by Alfonso Escolar González, Environmental engineer from Universidad de los Andes and Mariana Rozo-Paz, Policy, Research and Project Management Lead at the Datasphere Initiative.
