Datos para la Inteligencia Artificial en América Latina y el Caribe – Tendencias y Desafíos

The Datasphere Initiative, D4D Network y The Global Index on Responsible AI, organizaron el pasado martes 9 de mayo, un webinar sobre “Datos para la Inteligencia Artificial en América Latina y el Caribe – Tendencias y Desafíos”.

Para maximizar los beneficios de la IA y minimizar los riesgos adversos, los gobiernos y partes interesadas de todo el mundo necesitan comprender mejor el alcance y la profundidad de los riesgos planteados por la falta de datos y gobernanza de los datos, y desarrollar procesos y estructuras regulatorias y operativas para abordar dichos desafíos.

En este evento regional se presentaron las principales tendencias y desafíos en el uso de aplicaciones de inteligencia artificial en América Latina y el Caribe, y cómo se está desarrollando la gobernanza de datos.

Durante esta sesión se discutió como la gobernanza de datos se está utilizando para el desarrollo de la IA en la región, y las posibles disparidades que se generan.

The Datasphere Initiative, D4D Network and The Global Index on Responsible AI, organized on Tuesday, May 9 a webinar on “Data for Artificial Intelligence in Latin America and the Caribbean – Trends and Challenges”.

To enhance the benefits of AI while minimizing the adverse risks, governments and stakeholders worldwide need to better understand the scope and depth of the risks posed by inadequate data and data governance and develop regulatory and operational processes and structures to address these challenges. This regional event discussed the main trends and challenges for the use of artificial intelligence applications in Latin America and the Caribbean and how data governance is being developed in support of those.

This session sparked the discussion around the data governance that is being used for AI developments in the region, and the potential disparities that are created.
