The Data Governance School LatAm (DGSL) took place from April 17-19, 2024, at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) Law School, on the Botafogo Bay, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The goal of the DGSL was to bring together data protection regulators and other stakeholders for an intensive three-day-long course, where each participant had a dual role, being both a student and a lecturer. DGSL stakeholders encompass public servants from Latin American Data Protection Authorities, data governance practitioners, governmental and intergovernmental officials, start-up and business representatives, activists, and researchers.

Lorrayne Porciuncula, Executive Director of the Datasphere Initiative, attended the event and spoke at the “Regulatory sandboxes for better data governance” session on April 19, 2024, at 11.40am – 12.40pm BRT.
