An organization campaigning to put community at the center of data narratives, practices, and policies, Connected by Data has joined the Datasphere Initiative as an in-kind partner.
“We have been cooperating with Connected by Data since the Datasphere Initiative’s inception and are looking forward to building on our common research agendas and raising awareness of why we need a more human-centric approach to data governance,” said Carolina Rossini, Director of Partnerships & Research, Datasphere Initiative.
The Datasphere Initiative and Connected by Data take a holistic approach when it comes to addressing the opportunities and challenges data-driven economies impose upon communities. Guided by their complementary missions and work agendas to support the collection, use, and sharing of data for the public good and under democratic control, the Datasphere Initiative and Connected by Data will seek to collaborate on a range of research projects and outreach initiatives related to building inclusive and participatory policy practices.
“Connected by Data and the Datasphere Initiative share a common desire to explore the future of data governance, and ensure that future is just, inclusive, and equitable. We’re delighted to join forces as we seek to develop the collective data governance policies that will shape the impact of data and the future of our societies,” said Jeni Tennison, Executive Director, Connected by Data.
